On October 4, the EU Commission adopted Regulation (EU) 2018/1480, amending Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008 on classification, labelling and packaging of substances and mixtures (CLP), for the purpose of its adaptation to technical and scientific progress (ATP).
The 13th ATP implements new harmonized classification and labeling for MIT and CMIT/MIT, amongst others. The key changes to be introduced are: the specific concentration limit (SCL) of 15 ppm for the skin sensitization endpoint for MIT as well as new M-factors for environmental hazards for CMIT/MIT.
The new harmonized classifications will be legally binding in the European Union from May 1st, 2020.
